VON Europe, Berlin (PRWeb) November 8, 2006 -- Camrivox has added integration with salesforce.com®, the leader in on-demand customer relationship management (CRM) services, to its range of FlexorTM IP phones and telephony adapters.

VoIP is not just about cheap phone calls, but can give users a wide range of features to help them work with their PC applications
"VoIP is not just about cheap phone calls, but can give users a wide range of features to help them work with their PC applications," said David Moorhouse, VP of marketing at Camrivox. "Our Flexor range already provides integration with Microsoft® OutlookTM and CTI features like on-screen caller ID, and adding salesforce.com® support is an important step for us."

With the Camrivox IP phone or VoIP adapter, when a call comes in from a customer, a screen is displayed on the PC with the customer’s details retrieved from salesforce.com®. The user can make notes on the screen within salesforce.com®, and the call and notes added are logged into salesforce.com® and saved when the call is terminated.

To make a call to a customer, the user simply clicks on the number listed within salesforce.com®. The outgoing call is logged with that customer’s record. Users can also hang up or transfer calls from within salesforce.com®.

Company Aims to Bring Wireless VoIP to Market Globally

LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Add Partners, one of Europe's leading technology Venture Capital firms, today announces that it has made a seed investment in Luxembourg-based wireless VoIP (WiVoIP) start-up Wireless Technology Partners (WTP). The new investment underscores Add Partners' leadership in identifying and supporting Europe's innovative young communications companies to help them bring their technology to market with speed, and on a global scale. It also brings recognition of WTP's technology advantage to the public arena for the first time.
ADVERTISEMENT

The emerging WiVoIP solutions aim to solve the problem of integrating this technology into mobile devices to make them more reliable, cost effective and feature rich. With WiVoIP, phones can operate as mobiles when users are on the road and switch to standard office or home phones whenever they can connect to corporate or home wireless LANs. Phone users thereby reduce phone costs when connecting their mobiles to WiFi hot spots.

Users of Instant Messenger-based VoIP services, traveling anywhere in the world, can make and receive phone calls. WiVoIP-enabled phones can integrate with other services available over the Internet, including video conversation; message or data file exchange in parallel with the conversation; audio conferencing; managing of address books; and passing information on the online availability of others, such as friends or colleagues, to interested parties.

While WiVoIP is rapidly gaining ground as the next major wireless communications shift, some of its technological challenges have proved difficult to surmount. Issues of scalability, quality of service, security, and speed and cost of implementation, for example, have dogged the burgeoning industry.

According to Add Partners, WTP is well on its way to solving these key challenges in order to bring carrier-grade WiVoIP to market in the near term. "We all know the significance of VoIP. WiVoIP is far more disruptive and challenging at the same time. WTP is in a better position, we believe, than anyone else today to address the inherent and network-related challenges of WiVoIP," says Niko Von Huetz, investment director, Add Partners. The WTP team - all highly experienced telecoms engineers and executives with directly relevant experience - have already made great progress in tackling the technology issues. Our investment is a start to helping them deliver sooner than anyone else on the massive promise of WiVoIP."

As David Parsons, WTP founder and CEO, a telecoms veteran formerly with IBM and MCI, says: "WiVoIP is fast establishing itself as the mainstream technology for voice communications. Today, however, WiVoIP is fraught with implementation and security challenges. The ODMs, OEMs of single and dual-mode handsets and newly emerging VoIP operators are racing to build compliant and secure WiVoIP solutions for the enterprise and consumer. WTP has identified solutions to many of the key challenges in WiVoIP, which will have a significant impact for all players in the market."

~ Spirent Solutions Enable Alcatel's IPTV Service Assurance Proof of Concept Lab ~

London °V November 7, 2006 -- Spirent Communications (NYSE: SPM; LSE: SPT), a global provider of performance analysis and service management solutions, today announced its participation in Alcatel's IP Video Service Assurance Proof of Concept Lab. This trial lab is hosted by Alcatel to accelerate end-to-end test and measurement solutions for triple play service offerings.

Spirent's world-class test and measurement solutions have been chosen by Alcatel to create an end-to-end solution for IP-based video service offerings. Spirent's SmartSight, IPMax, video performance management and Tech-X solutions are proven service assurance tools for IPTV and triple play. To date, Spirent offers the only solutions available that emulate the subscriber experience through the transport core, access and in the home. Spirent's solutions are used by the NOC and operations service center to quickly and easily diagnose complex IP service impairments.

Spirent's Video Test Solution (VTS) will give the Alcatel lab the capability to do in-depth analysis of video quality via a lab-based test bed. This innovative platform provides IP impairment emulation and video quality assessment for thorough evaluation of device and network performance.

"Spirent's contributions to the Alcatel IPTV ecosystem will help accelerate IPTV deployment," says Jeff Schmitz, vice president of product marketing at Spirent Communications. "The data collected during the lab's operation will offer a pre-deployment analysis of real-world subscriber experiences. By verifying service quality and the subscriber experience prior to launch, operators gain an understanding of what it takes to deliver IPTV right the first time."

The Alcatel IPTV POC Lab was unveiled at the Telco TV Conference & Expo, held in Dallas, TX, Nov 6-8, 2006. This landmark event will push the envelope of IP video service delivery and will accelerate the deployment of FTTn triple play and IPTV deliver service.

"VON Europe" 2006 – Communipen presents "Complete VoIP Solution"

Berlin, 6 November 2006: Communipen GmbH is set to launch its operations in Germany at this year’s VON (http://voneurope.com/) – the trade’s most important international congress and trade fair for IP communication. The company is a subsidiary of Denmark-based Communipen AS which has been nurturing its expertise in the Voice over IP business and the international IT and telecommunications market for the past several years.
Communipen GmbH, to be headquartered in Berlin, will be presenting itself to

www.communipen.com
specialist visitors, the interested public and IT journalists for the first time from Stand 116 where retailers, carriers, ISPs, portal operators and reseller will be able to make their own initial assessment of the company’s ‘Complete VoIP Solution’.
The most striking feature of the solution lies in its flexibility. Its modular structure can be adapted to meet customized requirements or branding, or its single components can be promoted separately. The complete package comprises a Voice over IP USB Stick, softphone, web portal and VoIP back-end as well as the whole range of carrier, telephony and billing services.

The hardware is captivating, not only because it is so easy to manage. The flash drive contains an integrated sound card optimized for VoIP. The next-generation softphone is pre-installed on the drive thereby saving users the annoying hassle of having to install additional software and systems on the PC. VoIP and Go: users can log on to the company’s web portal from any PC (from analog to broadband connection) anywhere in the world and telephone in full anonymity without leaving trails of confidential data. All the data runs through high-end server systems.
The launch of the fully-automated web-supported platform is to be made in Germany. Communipen will be operating the portal as an ASP model, with clients defining their own marketing and sales strategies. All international numbering plans can be set up for the portal in a matter of days, including service numbers. Other features include real time billing, voice box, text messaging, MMS, diverse rechargeable or unlimited tariffs. The international portal system has been implemented in all languages and for major currencies – always complying to statutory regulations in the respective countries. The billing system has been EU-certified, supporting both credit limits (a monthly maximum budget per customer) and prepaid accounts. A particular feature is the integrated shop for both hardware and tariffs – a business model developed well by the mobile phone industry. It is also possible to connect to all standard merchandise management systems at any time through open interfaces.
Is it also possible to connect excellent quality virtual telephony with the old world of telecommunications? With its range of products, Communipen is addressing classic B2B channels. In doing so, its uniqueness lies in its internationality, simplicity and top quality. Its motto: VoIP it! Communipen’s goal is to make Voice over IP accessible to the mass market without making it complicated and to become Europe’s leading VoIP solution provider.

At the VON congress, Stand 116, Communipen will be only be demonstrating the functionalities of the platform but also providing some test accounts.

Monday November 6, 8:05 am ET

Company's Enhanced Offerings Help Customers Meet New IMS Test Requirements

BERLIN--(MARKET WIRE)--Nov 6, 2006 -- From the VON Europe Autumn 2006 conference - Booth # 310 -- Empirix® Inc., which helps organizations adopt complex communications solutions with confidence, announced today its Hammer for IMS platform now provides even more options for advanced feature testing, load testing, and analysis of emerging IMS applications.
As IMS networks move from design to deployment, vendors and service providers have uncovered many new test requirements, such as DIAMETER testing for subscriber databases, emulating IMS infrastructure devices, and testing specific application scenarios in the IMS domain.

The enhancements to Empirix's Hammer for IMS platform improve its ability to test IMS applications, devices, and networks and extend the company's call generation and analysis capabilities for IMS. These enhancements include additional protocol support, new IMS infrastructure device emulations, and full incorporation of 3GPP SIP extensions for complete emulation of an IMS User Element (UE). Specifically, the Hammer for IMS platform can now be used to test the following common IMS-enabled features:

-- Consumer VoIP Services;
-- Fixed-mobile Convergence;
-- Presence-based Applications;
-- Push-to-talk over Cellular;
-- IP Centrex; and
-- Centralized Subscriber Data Repositories.
Enhancements to Empirix's IMS testing platform also include additional device emulations, such as full support of Session Control Functions, Application Servers, Home Subscriber Servers, and Charging Functions, as well as Gateways, Gateway Controllers, Media Servers and Border Control Functions.

ADVERTISEMENT

Advanced IMS feature functional testing is also available on Empirix's innovative and scalable Hammer FX-Blade platform. The latest version of FX-Blade features several new usability improvements, making it even easier to conduct advanced functional testing at high loads. Hammer FX-Blade, introduced this past June, is the industry's first blade server-based testing tool, allowing extremely complex tests to be scaled to high loads.

"As IMS moves from theory to reality, ensuring quality in IMS networks is becoming a major concern for both Network Equipment Manufacturers and service providers," said Duane Sword, Empirix's Vice President of Product Management. "The Hammer for IMS portfolio provides the industry's most comprehensive set of IMS test and analysis tools, offering a full suite of tests for the entire IMS lifecycle, from NEM development, proof-of-concept labs and interoperability, to actual trials and deployments. We are excited to introduce this latest set of features for complete testing of the IMS core."

Empirix announced its Hammer for IMS solution earlier this year at Spring VON. Hammer for IMS allows NEMs and Service Providers to verify device interoperability, confirm feature functionality, validate application integrity, ensure end-user Quality of Experience, and troubleshoot complex VoIP and SIP-centric sessions. The company is a member of the IMS Forum and is a Founding Member of the Voice & Video over IP Quality Alliance (V2oiPQA).

Last month, Empirix announced that research firm Frost & Sullivan named it the global market share leader for IMS Voice Testing and Monitoring. To register for an executive summary of the Frost & Sullivan market study, titled "IMS Network Test & Measurement Market for Voice Testing and Monitoring Applications," visit http://www.empirix.com/ims_report.

See Hammer for IMS at VON Europe Autumn 2006

Enhancements to Hammer for IMS are available now. Empirix will demonstrate its Hammer suite of testing and monitoring solutions at the VON Europe Autumn 2006 conference in Berlin, Germany, at Empirix Booth #310.
